AUSTRALIAN CRUFTS 12 Australian Terrier Judge(s): MRS V J HODGSON Australian Terriers PD (2) 1 Moore’s Riverwye Poacher, 11 months b/t, well boned pup, lovely outline in stance & on the move, masculine head, neat ears, dark eye, strong jaw. Tail bang on top, well angulated hindquarters, showed & moved so well for his young handler. BP; 2 Small’s Bethane Conna Sir, 12 months red, sound, nice reach of neck into well laid shoulder, good in stifle & hocks. Preferred overall balance & outline of 1. JD (1) 1 Skelton’s Millvalley Scotch Mist, 15 months b/t, got flashes of really good movement on this young man but his overall exuberance cost him a higher award. He wouldn’t concentrate, throwing himself off balance making his hind movement erratic. Good masculine head, dark well shaped eye, good mouth, well boned, coat of good texture. PGD (2) 1 Bell’s Farfadet Du Predes Valois avec Belyndi, red, masculine all through, well off for bone, well shaped skull, good earset & dark well shaped eye, moved out well in front. At times tended to move wide behind. Would like more coat; 2 Brown’s Millvalley Blue Dashwood at Ralindi, b/t, well angulated, good reach of neck, coat of good colour & texture. He could perhaps carry a little more weight. Moved out well but not the topline of 1. LD (4) 1 Tam’s Millvalley The Exciseman, b/t, good length of rib, strong topline, masculine head, flat skull, good reach of neck, moved out soundly, showing well. RCC; 2 Cabourne’s Spitewinter Cosmos at Blujon, b/t, good in head, dark eye, well set ears, nice angulation, sound in movement. Not topline of 1; 3 Brown’s Ralindi The Executor, well boned red, very masculine. Not moving out as well as 1 & 2. Coat of good texture that needs to clear. OD (2) 1 Stoddart’s Ch/Am Ch Millvalley Red Rufus, 6 years, good shape to head, well angulated, ribs well carried back, level topline, strong quarters, moved out well, steady showman. CC; 2 Foskett, Tyrrell & Freer’s Hisnibs, red, overall heavier in type. Masculine in head, strong topline & quarters. Not moving out as well as 1 being a little loose in elbow. GCD (0). VB (2) 1 Skelton’s Werribee Platinum Glory, 8 years b/t, good coat & overall condition, nice angles, holding topline on the move, showed steadily; 2 Stoddart’s Ch Millvalley Heather Belle, 11 years b/t, many breed attributes. Topline a little slack now. Moved happily round the ring. PB (0). JB (3) 1 Jones’ Wyeafon Illusion In Red, what a lovely young bitch, well off for bone, good flat skull dark eye, well set ears & good bite, well angulated, strong in topline, good set on, moved out with reach & drive. Coat of good colour & texture. Pushed hard for CC. RCC; 2 Leeson’s Armirelli Secret Code, b/t, feminine in head, well laid shoulder, good reach of neck into level topline, strong quarters, moved out soundly; 3 Mitchell’s Tweed-dle-Dee Face The Music, dark well shaped eye, good earset but felt muzzle a shade long. Strong topline, moved well in front. Not as strong behind as 2. PGB (1) 1 Brown’s Ralindi Express Yourself, red, in good coat, nice angles, good turn of stifle, moved soundly. Not the least bit interested in showing herself off. LB (3) 1 McCourt & Eardley’s Silhill Snap Dragon with Sherex, red, in good coat & condition, neat feminine head, correct in eye & ears, level topline, good set on, moved soundly, showed herself well; 2 Skelton’s Millvalley Poosie Nancy, b/t, neat in head, dark eye. Not the topline on the move as 1. Tail set a tad low. Good coat & condition. OB (5) 1 McCourt’s Ch Silhill Sweet Pea, extrovert red showgirl, flat skull, dark well shaped eye, neat earset, full topknot, good angulation, topline held at all times, moved out soundly with good reach & drive, great coat & condition with ruff & apron. CC & BOB; 2 Stoddart’s Am Ch Temora’s The Simple Life, b/t, mature bitch, good length of neck & firm topline, well laid shoulder, good quarters. Moved well coming but at times very close behind; 3 Thompson’s Lapthorne Jenina Jazamtaz, red, neat feminine head, well placed ears, dark well shaped eye, strong topline, good coat & condition. GCB (1) 1 Cox’s Spitewinter Causing Chaos at Petitpaws, 8 years b/t, well muscled, fit throughout, moving soundly, holding topline, in good coat & condition, steady showgirl. VELMA J HODGSON |
