AUSTRALIAN TERRIER

Disappointing to get such a small entry, only 14 dogs, but in the event the weather conditions were so unbelievably ghastly that I felt really sorry for the dogs and exhibitors who had made the trip to Blackpool. Our ring was small and waterlogged and the poor Aussies looked as if they were wearing boots, dripping mud everywhere. I almost had to forget movement as these conditions were not normal or acceptable to a short legged terrier.

1 McCourt &Eardley's Silhill Chip Off The Old Rock. 9 mths, very nice red, well set and carried tail, masculine head, good neck, shoulders, topline and quarters, keen expression, dark eyes, shapely body, well presented, steady showman, well handled, needs to grow into his ears.

1 Skelton's Millvalley Scotch Mist. 16 mths blue/t, lovely head and eye, well carried ears, lean fit body, good coat and condition, switched on showman, moved well behind.

2 Jones' Silhill Private Collection At Wyeafon. 11 mths, dark eyes, well pigmented, well knit body, excellent coat texture, moved ok but not as fluent as first, litter brother to BP but a bit immature for this class.

3 Cabourn's Spitewinter Cosmos At Blujon.

1 and CC, McCourt &Eardley's Jaskarin Magic Number (Imp Swe). 2 yrs old red, well up to size for me but sound and well constructed, never stopped showing for a second which under the circumstances was amazing. Masculine and self assured, lovely body and topline, well set tail, strong quarters, sound mover, full of himself.

2 and RCC, O'Reilly's Ir Ch Silhill Bethane Jackaroo. Two and a half yrs, pleasing head, smart red, another keen showman, clean neckline, good body and ribcage, excellent coat texture, well conditioned, not 100 per cent happy moving in the mud.

3 Tams' Millvalley The Exciseman.

1, BP and RCC, McCourt &Eardley's Silhill Scarlet Ribbon With Sherex. 11 mths red, beautiful puppy who chose today to be awkward, her handler tried everything to humour her but she was a proper little madam and only co-operated when she felt like it! Excellent type and size, quality head, lovely topline and overall proportions, well muscled quarters, moved well in spasms.

2 O'Reilly's Silhill Royal Blue. Litter sister to first, quality puppy, feminine and smart, good body, coat and outline, well presented, not as good in front as first.

3 Cabourn's Millvalley Blutanzanite At Blujon.

1 Stoddart &Seaton's Temora's Photo Finish (Imp UA). 15 mths blue/t, well constructed bitch who didn't seem to mind the elements, keen expression, good body and depth, used her neck well, steady showgirl, moved reasonable well.

1, CC and BOB, Jones' Wyeafon Illusion In Red. 23 mths red, did not have a care in the world and trotted her stuff as if she was on Wimbledon grass! Typy bitch of excellent quality, intelligent expression, dark keen eyes, feminine head, good ruff, lovely harsh jacket, very fit, sturdy body, good topline, sound mover, great showgirl.

2 McCourt &Eardley's Silhill Snap Dragon With Sherex. Nearly 3 yrs, firm body and topline, pleasing head but really picking her way in the mud and not putting all in, well handled.

3 Stoddart's Ch/Am Ch Temora's The Simple Life.
